The co-founders of Dry Tickets, an online ticketing agency in Sydney, Amit Chauhan and Rajeev Chauhan, always trusted their instincts in life. “The result is that we always hoped for the best in life and moved ahead with much enthusiasm,” they echo with smiling faces.

After completing their Masters in Computer Applications from Lovely Professional University in India, they started exploring the world of e-commerce and in the last eight years have become veritable masters of the online market having created over one hundred websites of their own. This is just the beginning; we are hoping to create many more in the times to come,” says an upbeat Amit. Rajeev second him, “There is a huge scope of development in the online market and anyone who is ready to go the extra mile can work wonders.”

Amit and Rajeev first started by gaining experience in the world of online marketing to gauge the waters and know how to wade through them. Once they settled in Australia, they wanted to create a service online for the community, which would enable people to be able to do certain transactions online. “We came up with the idea of an online ticketing website for Indian events within Australia with the choice of seat selection. The idea clicked and we are advancing ahead with rapid speed while uniting the community on a common platform,” share the dynamic duo.

Amit and Rajeev started implementing the idea; after a lot of sleepless nights, their parent’s blessings and Amit’s wife’s support, Dry Tickets was created. “It was a dream come true for us,” says Amit.

In May 2013, Dry Tickets got its first opportunity thanks to Mr Nillo Duggal who came to Amit and Rajeev with his show of Udit Narayan. “He truly believed in this idea and supported us. Udit Narayan’s show in Sydney was Dry Tickets’ first Indian event to provide customers with the facility of being able to buy tickets online along with their own seating choice. This resulted in a sold out show with C3 Silverwater full of Udit Narayan fans,” the duo beams.

Dry Tickets has now sold tickets for 12 shows within Sydney and Canberra. Some of the big names they have sold tickets for are Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Kapil Sharma and Arijit Singh; Udit Narayan and Punjabi artists such as Gippy Grewal and Sharry Mann, Manmohan Waris, Kamal Heer and Sangtar. Dry Tickets now is the easiest, quickest and most efficient way to purchase tickets for Indian events in Sydney. As for the future, they share, “Dry Tickets has grown very quickly and received many positive reviews from the Indian Community in Sydney. Dry Tickets will soon start ticket sales for Indian events all around Australia and grow as a nationally recognised company.” “Our USP remains that the audience can choose their own seats via a virtually interactive system,” they sign off.
